EMR Program

The EMR or Emergency Medical Responder program is a volunteer program sponsored and overseen by Elbert County Emergency Services.  This program, formerly known as the First Responder Program utilizes volunteers from Elbert County E911,  Elbert County Fire Department, paid responders from City of Elberton Fire Department and Elbert County Sherriff Office, as well as volunteers throughout the community to provide basic medical care to sick or injured persons until more advanced care can arrive.

These responders attend a State Approved EMR Course taught by Elbert County Emergency Services and also attend regular In-Service education as required by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and Elbert County Emergency Services.
